Thank you, Evan Hardy Collegiate!
To start, I must apologise for the tardiness of getting this blog entry up here on my website, I’ve been incredibly busy since this date, but I had the privilege of being invited to bring my Writing for Comics presentation to a grade 11 English Literature class at Evan Hardy Collegiate right here in Saskatoon.
What I was met with on the day was a class of students very engaged in writing, this was immediately apparent from the fantastic questions I received through the Q&A portion of the presentation.
The wonderful students I met on the day are a testament to the dedication our province’s teachers are providing to the next generation of writers day-in, day-out. This was, again, apparent from the questions I received, I could see clearly that these students are dissecting and disseminating the processes that go into not just writing and formatting, but the minutiae of what goes into getting a finished work to print, publishing, and even marketing a finished work.
To me, this showed potential writers who are way beyond their years in intellect and thought process about writing, a huge testament to Ms. Sokul’s incredible work as the class’ tutor.
So, students of the writing class I presented to, if you read this, you impressed me to no end.
A huge thank you to Ms. Sokul, Evan Hardy Collegiate and the Saskatoon Public School Division for hiring me.
